The Daily App Show – all your iPhone Apps

with 100 000 apps and counting, the iPhone has become one of the fastest and most successful digital ecosystems ever.  Reminiscent of the early days of shareware on the pc, when small programs were distributed for little or nominal cost, the App Store has become a goldmine for developers – looking to share something creative and zany in a small screen size.  Sifting through this plethora of gold can be daunting.

well, lucky we have Jerad here as a guide.  He has been diligently reviewing apps since the very early days; producing quality talk through videos of the best finds of the day.  All the apps featured are paid, so let that be a warning up front.  If you like what you see, you’ll be handing over some small change.

the video reviews are between 3 and 5 minutes in length, and the view of the iphone screen is clear and unhindered.  Jerad talks through the features, showing off the various options, and even making a fair fist of the games while he is speaking.  The versatility and creativity of the various apps is most impressive.

This is a very enjoyable show, done in the right spirit, and is informative, entertaining, and leads to a direct outcome (ie, you purchasing the app and feeling empowered :-) ). Great work.

iPhone App Reviews

September 15th, 2009 admin No comments

the iPhone has revolutionised the mobile computing experience in its short 2 year lifespan.  Such power, speed, and functionality has never been available in such a small device.  To Apple we say thanks.  But even more revolutionary for the individual user has been the arrival of the iPhone App Store – allowing developers a doorway into the palm of your hand.

as of September ‘09, there are 75 thousand of these Apps.  Quite daunting for the individual user to sift through.

the podcast spotlighted here picks out a few of these App gems.  A lot of them are games, but there are more functional references; such as a First Aid Guide, and a GPS Tracker that records your journey onto a map.  Each episode is a 2 minute video, professionally produced and narrated, with a light and insightful touch from the reviewer.  I was quite impressed by how well the iPhone screen was captured and conveyed; a real Point-of-View experience.

the digital lifestyle

the podcast is from TheDigitalLifestyle group; who also have a number of other shows; focusing in on the Apple brand and experience.  Well done guys.
