Underground Wellness – finding your right foods

Sean Croxton is a firm believer in metabolic typing.  Basically, this says that every individual has a diet most suited for them.  So forget Atkins, and all his low carbs – you need to find what works for you.

underground wellness

This podcast, Underground Wellness, is a weekly blogtalk radio show that features interviews with guests that would be considered heretical to the traditional medical health system.  It is alternative in the extreme.  But the fundamental motivation behind such a stance is in finding what works; quite frankly, if you look around you, you don’t see wellness and life abounding; rather you see an over-burdened medical system that doesn’t solve the disease and symptoms presented.  That’s because the cause is much deeper – it lies within our food.

this show looks at where our food comes from, what happens before it gets to us, and what we to it before we consume it.  It also asks big questions about *what* we eat, and whether it is appropriate for us.  The shows themselves go over the hour mark, and are well paced.  Sean is a fine interviewer and listener, and allows his guests to present their case.  The content really comes to the fore, and there is a minimum of self-promotion and willy waggling – it is all about the primacy of the information.

this is liberating stuff, and is a trigger for truly life changing decisions.  What are you eating for dinner tonight?

Vegan Radio – a change in lifestyle

September 21st, 2009 admin No comments

food and diet play a critical role in our lives.  After all, what our body is constituted of is made from what we ingest on a daily basis.  The waste is expelled, and what is left, becomes us.  So yes, you ARE what you eat :-)

I’ve meddled with vegetarianism on and off since leaving high school.  I never managed to find a sustainable regime; there would be too much pasta, or too much fruit, or not enough oils – in the end, I always returned to a meat eating diet.

But then I discovered veganism.  Drop meat, but also drop all milk and dairy products.  No eggs either.  And this simple prescription worked for me.  Having a tighter diet actually made things easier, paradoxically.  So yes, I am biased.

vegan radio studio
Vegan Radio is a podcast that airs once or twice a month.  It is originally broadcast as a bona fide radio show in Massachusetts, but thanks to the world wide reach of the web, everyone has access to it now.  It is a show dedicated to the vegan lifestyle, but also to the tangential issues associated with such a commitment.  Implicit to going vegan is a passionate concern for animal rights, sustainable agriculture, and even *shock* *horror* spirituality.  It is definitely a fundamental shift in attitudes when one goes vegan.

The hosts are gentle and light-hearted – banter abounds in this show.  Shows run just under an hour, and are very digestible fare.

This is a podcast infused with love and joy.  Go Vegan!
